Declutter and Purge! It’s spring time!

For many spring is all about cleaning and getting organized.

I bought a new wardrobe closet the other day, and the cool thing about it is that you can personalize the inside to your needs. So if you need more drawers, you can get that. If you need more hanging space, you can do that too! Or you can easily combine the two as I did. I want to have most of my clothes hanging (things like dresses, shirts etc), but I also have pants and sweaters that needs to be folded and put in a drawer.

I also got one of the doors as a mirror. I’ve always wanted a large mirror, and it saves space to have it on the closet itself!

Organizing

I also went on eBay, and found some nifty organizational storage solutions. I have a lot of knick-knacks, so if I can get those off my desk or dresser and into a closet, the better! I found this solution:

This allows me to keep a bunch of smaller items organized!

Purging time!

Getting a new closet also gave me an excellent possibility to purge it! I often think I don’t have a lot of clothes, but in fact, I do. And a lot of it I don’t use any more, mostly it doesn’t fit with my style. The clothes that are still usable, just not for me, I’m giving away to charity.

It’s always hard to get rid of things, at least I think so. I often buy knick-knacks when I’m abroad, to remember that place by. And most of it is pure tourist junk. And it never or rarely gets used or it’s hidden away in a box! So today I took a hard look at my things and asked myself these questions:

Have I used this item in the last year?

(Clothing) Is it still my style, and any chance I’ll wear it soon?

Does it have sentimental value and should therefore be kept?

Can I find some other use for it (as a storage solution, or display piece)?

It was really nice to clear things away and organize a little. Makes it a lot easier for me to find things as well when I need them!

Do you do spring cleaning and purging? What’s the hardest for you to get rid of?

Blog Tips — Purge WordPress Post Revisions

This entry is part 1 of 5 in the series Blog Tips

Whenever you write a post or page, several revisions will be stored in the database when you save or WordPress automatically saves for you. This can take up a lot of unnecessary room in your database. Especially if you have a lot of posts/pages and hit save a lot.

For most of us, these revisions are unneeded, especially on published posts.

I came across a plugin for WordPress today, which cleans up those revisions for you, without touching drafts, currently published and scheduled posts.

I tested it now right before I wrote this entry, and according to it my stats are:

You have 171 posts.
Since you started using Better Delete Revision, 1108 redundant post revisions have been removed!

That’s a lot of revisions!

So check out the Better Delete Revisions Manager plugin if you have a WordPress blog now, and do some digital spring cleaning!

Shopping, shopping!

Wow, time has flown by! Tomorrow begins my last week here in Thailand :/ I’m going home on Friday, and I wish I could stay a week longer! But, I won’t complain, I’ve had three weeks here! :)

We’ve been doing a LOT of shopping and eating, hehe! Even today, I went to a shopping center (MBK), originally just to get some smaller items, but ended up buying more :P Of course…

I’ve also been having lazy days, spending 3-4 hours at the pool almost every day. I’ll probably do that tomorrow as well! It’s really nice to have breakfast, then spend hours at the pool area really relaxing, and doing some reading. This was supposed to be a relaxing vacation for me, not trekking all over, like I’ve done before, and I’ve done exactly that! :D

My travel companions have left for Phuket and Kao Lak, so I’ll be spending some time just for myself. Which can be both nice and not so nice. It’s nice to have someone to dine with, but it’s also nice to be able to spend some time to yourself, doing exactly what you want, in the pace you want.

And who knows what tomorrow will bring? Besides breakfast and hanging by the pool of course! ;)

Do you prefer travelling alone, or with someone?

Bangkok, woho!

I’m travelling with two of my friends, and we’ve been to Nakhon Sawan earlier, which is my best friend’s home town. In Nakhon Sawan we live at her parent’s house, and we get to eat true Thai food :D

Lunch

Thai food is super yummy! Too bad my tolerance for spicy food isn’t as well as I want it to be :P I haven’t eaten spicy food in a while, so my tolerance for it has gone down :/

I’m staying at the Pullman King Power Bangkok hotel, which is fancy!

The hotel room here is really nice! I’m staying on the 4th floor, with direct access to the pool area, woho! And the prices aren’t too bad for a 4 1/2 star hotel in down town Bangkok! It’s expensive if you buy directly from the hotel itself, but the prices on other online sites are good.

Today’s weather is awesome, so we’ve been at the pool area ever since breakfast :P I’ve gotten a bit red between the shoulders, lol! Hopefully it’ll turn into a nice tan, and not just be red and then disappear.

I’ve been shopping quite a bit too, so my suitcase is getting HEAVY! Everything here is really cheap, as the Norwegian krone is pretty strong next to the Thai baht. I’ve bought several dresses for around 100 NOK, which is cheap! But since I also brought with me some dresses, the suitcase is packed to the max :P I’ll most certainly send some items home, there’s not much more room left in my suitcase!

Hopefully I’ll have a chance to write more soon! If you want to see more photos, check out my Flickr Thailand set.

Hope all of you are having a great day as well!

Still Here!

It’s been a while since my last entry (September last year, yikes!), and there’s no particular reason for that. I simply got a bit busy at one point, and completely fell out of the loop on the whole blogging sphere!

Hopefully I can get back into the game soon, as I love reading other people’s blog and writing in my own! :)

I have an upcoming trip to Thailand that I would like to share with you all, and I’m also busy studying for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test), which I’m planning to take this December!

So hopefully I’ll have some more news for you soon! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
