Morning Must Do’s

Yesterday morning I overslept! I got woken up by my dad knocking on my door saying “shouldn’t you be out the door by now?”. And I looked at the clock, and it was 7:43! And I’m supposed to take the train at 7:44 to make it to work by 8am :P

I’m lucky that at work we have a system called “flexitid”, or flexible time/hours, meaning as long as I’m at work 9am-3pm (so called “core hours”), it doesn’t matter if I come a little late, or go a little early, as long as I work the time I’ve “flex’ed” by the end of the week.

So it was no real rush to get to work, but I still felt bad for oversleeping, and I have a big project at work where the deadline is closing in and I’m  far from finished yet, so no time to lose!

I managed to shower, get dressed, do my make-up, quickly slurp down some coffee, blow-dry my hair, grab my purse and work-things and rush out the door to catch the train 40 minutes later.

When you oversleep, and have to rush, you see what your morning must- do’s are. The things you absolutely have to do in the morning to be decent enough to walk out the door and to work.

My morning must-do’s, other than the obvious of getting dressed etc.,  is getting at least one sip of coffee (otherwise I can’t function at all, and my entire day is ruined :P ), do my make-up (I don’t wear much any ways, but need some) and grab my phone and my keys and bank card (which is usually in my purse), and if I am going to work, work keys and access card. If I’m really rushed, I can just let my hair air-dry rather than blow-drying it which takes a while since I have long hair.

I think that roughly my morning must-do’s…

What are your morning must- do’s?

I like to get up and read blogs and news while I have my coffee. Then get in a little exercise. That makes the world a better place for me!

That’s the best work hour regulation, ever :)

As far as my morning must-dos, they usually involve…oh crap, I’m late! *runs*

I always oversleep since I quit my last job. I’ll be back in the workforce soon, and I guess I’d have to start practicing getting up early in the morning!

I guess my morning must-dos (other than showering and getting dressed too) are putting on a bit of make-up, checking my bag’s contents so I don’t forget anything, grabbing a book from my shelves if I’m in the mood to read, and kissing my cat before I leave the house. Coffee usually can wait until I get to the office.

I know what you mean. I had about 6 months of doing nothing besides applying for jobs after I graduated, and it was a bit of an adjustment to SUDDENLY have to get up at 6am every day, and work from 8am to 4pm :P

And having worked for 8 months, and I still have some adjustments to do, regarding student life versus working full time life.
