Sine spring is upon us, it’s only appropriate with the infamous “spring cleaning”.
I’ve slowly started to clear out my wardrobe and my boxes to get ready for spring!
Over the past 23 years I’ve collected a lot of stuff. Some have stuck with me from place to place, other things have been lost or left behind, either on purpose or mistakenly.
That’s the good thing about moving, you get rid of a LOT of stuff! I remember when we moved when I was around 17-18, and we were a bit stressed for time so we only packed the really important things and trashed a lot. I think I ended up with around 14 big black bags full of stuff I trashed :S And now digging through my stuff looking for a computer microphone, I think to myself, damn my pile of stuff is big!
I’ll be honest, I have a tendency to store everything because “one day it might come in handy”! And so I’ve accumulated quite a lot of stuff.
Every spring there’s a big… “trash day”, where you take all of your unwanted stuff, and put it on the lawn outside (bad place to put it, I know..), and then after two days or something, a garbage truck comes and gets all the unwanted stuff. But before that, all the neighbours (and sometimes people from further away too) come, and rummage through each others trash. As they say, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”!
And in preparation for tomorrow’s visit from Warunee, perhaps Lars (her husband) and Milon, I’ve even polished the tables and bookshelves — Making them all shiny!
How about you? Have you started spring cleaning yet?
I really don’t do much “Spring Cleaning” – but when I made the decision to move abroad, I threw out almost everything! I figured if I hadn’t looked at it in 10 years… no need to keep it!

If you haven’t looked at it in 10 years, then I agree, no need to keep it!
I have that dangerous tendency though, to find something I haven’t looked at for a long time and go “Hey, this might come in handy some day!” and then save it
But for the most part it just gets moved to a different box, and won’t get looked at again for another couple of years again
Oohh, leaving your “unwantables” on your front lawn sounds very exciting! Moving around for almost all my life has made me a quick decision maker when it comes to what stuff stays or goes, because I never want to be burdened with packing and unpacking not to mention transporting my junk! LOL!

It is fun snooping around and look at what other people call “trash”
Most of it isn’t really trash, it’s perfectly usable, it’s just that they’ve gotten something new and more shiny… But I can’t point fingers, I’m the same way sadly — replacing perfectly usable stuff with newer better stuff… :/
